Story Behind the Curve
In 2022, the Hoke County Health Department distributed 168 gun locks, increasing to 202 in 2023 as community trust and awareness grew. Initially, many residents were hesitant, viewing gun locks as a threat to their safety. Through educational campaigns and strong partnerships with local sheriff and police departments, we addressed concerns and highlighted how gun locks reduce accidental harm and save lives. This progress reflects a growing recognition of gun safety’s importance and our commitment to promoting safer communities.
