What Works to Do Better? (Performance)
Turning the Curve: The Mitchell Community Health Partnership has long served the county to help our citizens build, find, and seek out the resources we need to be healthy. We meet quarterly to share ideas and network around what is happening in Mitchell County. We action plan and host several events around issues in our area. One area we have always tried to combat is resources. We have many resources, but how do we let people know about them? What outlet in the county hits every household? Some get newspaper, some listen to the radio, some scroll social media, etc. If they know about the resources, how do we get them to use them? Here are a few projects we brainstormed to try to help with awareness:
- Use Billboards, radio PSAs, Social Media Ads, Newpaper Ads, attend local events, etc. to share resource guide booklets and promote 2-1-1.
- Host conferences for local agencies can gain knowledge about 2-1-1 and other ways to get the information they have or offer out to others; coming up with a plan to update all databases and hardcopy materials.
- Discuss and Implement a referral system to help agencies and patients find what they are in search of.
No matter what the person is looking for or what agency they call looking for it, or how much money they make, or size of the family, we need to effienently and promptly help them with the resources we have on hand. All agencies need to be on the same page and work together.
