Story Behind the Curve
Consistently, DPH leadership sets one meeting per month to touch base with NCALHD leadership to discuss emerging issues, legislative alignment, etc. Due to holidays, this does not actually happen each month. In practice, this group aims to meet at least 10 or more times per year. Prior to COVID response, these meetings did not occur consistently or regularly, they were ad hoc, at best and usually indicative of crisis. Regular meetings allow for more consistent discussion about ongoing issues, introduction of emerging issues, and brainstorming at a public health system team.
