Drug overdose deaths have been on the rise in Moore County since 2018, despite intense prevention efforts in the community. In 2018, Drug overdose deaths hit their lowest mark of 7.2 per 100,000 (7 deaths) for the period of 2014-2023 but those numbers have risen steadily ever since. In 2022, Moore County experienced its highest number of overdose deaths (50) to date.
