Measure Definition
This is an index score that corresponds to four levels of risk of psychological harm–low risk, average risk, elevated risk, and high risk.
The “Stress Satisfaction Index (SSIX)” tells us whether we have a negative mental health culture or a positive mental health culture. The DSE baseline was 1.08 (range -2.5 to +2.5), which is low risk of psychological injury (+0.5 to +2.5) and shows a "positive mental health culture."
Story Behind the Curve
Employee well-being is a priority and DSE relies on this metric to gage how staff are doing in their roles. In recent years the division has had 4 in-person events annually to help staff feel connected and to network across teams. This year, we have added events for supervisors as an additional networking and training opportunity. We are also implementing a new communication plan so staff stay better informed.
