Story Behind the Curve
According to the Ohio Department of Health, Food Service Guidelines are a set of nutrition criteria for beverages, snacks, entrees, and meals that can be implemented at worksites and community settings to increase access to healthy options and create food environments that make nutritious options easier to choose.
In April 2024, a survey was created by FCPH to learn about local implementation of Food Service Guidelines and barriers that may prevent organizations from utilizing such guidelines. This survey will be distributed during Summer/Fall 2024.
In December 2024, FCPH asked the City-Council Local Food Board to distribute the Food Service Guidelines survey to Local Food Action Plan partners.
In January 2025, FCPH asked the Growing Healthy Kids Coalition to distribute the Food Service Guidelines survey to Franklin County partners. Both the Growing Health Kids Coalition and the City-Council Local Food Board distributed the survey via email.
