2023 average was calculated from raw data spreadsheet titled 'VITA Report 2023' as follows: $337,411/269 refunds; in addition, 117 filers have blank refund cells in the report and probably owed money; they are not included in this calculation
by applying the same process to the 'VITA Report 2022' we reach the following conclusion: $180,039/119 returns for an average of $1512.93; this does not include 22 filers with a refund of $0.00 or 44 filers who owed money (SM 07-25-2024)
