An Afterschool Child Care Program provides developmentally appropriate care, education, protection, and supervision that are designed to ensure wholesome growth and educational experiences for children outside of their own homes for periods of less than 24 hours per day. An Afterschool Child Care Program is any place operated as a business or service on a regular or continuous basis, whether or not for compensation. This child care service is provided by an entity or person other than the
child’s own parent, guardian or relative.
