Story Behind the Curve
This measure shows the percentage of nulliparous (first birth), term (37 or more completed weeks based on the obstetric estimate), singleton (one fetus), in a cephalic presentation (head-first) births delivered by cesarean during the measurement year.
The rate is calculated for LRCD-CH using natality data submitted by Vermont and compiled by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) in CDC WONDER.
