Data reflects Maryland newborn residents in Maryland hospitals only.
Race/Ethnicity 'Other' includes American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Multiracial, other, unknown, missing, and declined to answer race and/or ethnicity.
The race/ethnicity groups included in the indicator are as written in the original data source. For years without data, the following applies: Rate not calculated for jurisdictions with less than 11 substance exposed newborns.
