Story Behind the Curve
Connecting individuals to mental health services is essential to improving emotional stability, daily functioning, and overall quality of life. Without access to appropriate care, individuals may continue to experience negative moods, harmful thought patterns, and behavioral challenges that interfere with their ability to work, maintain relationships, and meet basic life responsibilities. When individuals are connected to services within safe and nurturing environments, they gain the skills and support needed to understand and manage their mental health conditions and move toward greater emotional stability.
Between June 2024 and November 2024, funded programs successfully connected 783 clients to mental health services. From December 2024 through May 2025, an additional 724 clients were connected to care. These outcomes reflect how funded programs are actively working to strengthen referral pathways, increase outreach, and reduce access barriers so that more individuals can enter and remain engaged in treatment. Research shows that connecting individuals to mental health services contributes to lower levels of anxiety and depression and strengthens overall social connectedness. As individuals become more connected, they experience higher self esteem, greater empathy, and stronger relationships, which reinforce positive social, emotional, and physical well being. Through continued coordination with service providers and community partners, funded programs are helping turn the curve toward increased access, improved stability, and stronger long term mental health outcomes across the community.
