Measure Definition
This performance measure assesses the timely release of the two statutorily required fatality reports: the suicide mortality report (in line with §26B−8−229 and the overdose mortality report (in line with §26B−8−231).
These reports are generated quarterly, and the performance standard is that both must be released no later than 30 days after the end of the previous quarter.
The measurement is calculated as follows:
- 100%: Both the Psychological Autopsy Examiner report and the Overdose Fatality Examiner report are released within the 30-day post-quarter deadline.
- 50%:Only one of the two reports is released within the 30-day post-quarter deadline.
- 0%: Neither report is released within the 30-day post-quarter deadline.
This measure tracks compliance with statutory requirements and ensures that critical public health data on overdose and suicide fatalities is made available in a timely manner for analysis and intervention efforts.
