Story Behind the Curve
The average dollars saved per household is a factor of the price of fuel for any given year and the average percentage of energy saved that year. The average percentage of energy saved stays fairly static from year to year however the price of fuel in a given year can vary significantly. The cost of fuel has the biggest effect on changes here. When the price of fuel goes up, the average dollar amount saved per household goes up, and vice versa.
