Getting Ahead is a curriculum-based multi-week program that helps individuals in poverty build their resources and plan for greater economic stability. It was developed around an in-person format with meals and child care provided. One-on-one relationships have been very important to the success of this program. During 2020, the format was adapted for virtual delivery. There have been technology challenges for engaging the target population remotely and public health restrictions delayed the return to in-person. Some the trained facilitators were also unavailable after testing positive for COVID-19. Fortunately, the vendor persisted with delivery of the program during this unique year and found creative ways to adapt.
