Story Behind the Curve
The Child Development Division (CDD) has a goal that all children receiving Child Care Financial Assistance with a Children's Integrated Services (CIS) need for care will be in child care programs that have achieved 3 or more stars and are approved Specialized Child Care Programs. The CIS needs for care are children in protective custody, family's at high risk, and children with special needs. CDD has been working with the CIS Child Care Coordinators to support child care programs to be at this standard, and the number of programs that meet the standard has been increasing. This has caused an increase in the number of children attending these programs to increase in the past fiscal year.
