COVID-19 presented communication challenges in connecting with program participants during FY21. This is within the larger context of the pandemic which has had an unprecedented impact on communities and the economy. While overall young people may have experienced fewer direct health impacts, they have been hit hard by the social and economic consequences. Shutdowns and social distancing disrupted daily life and resulted in new or increased strain for many households. The harmful effects of the pandemic are expected to be most burdensome for those in already disadvantaged or vulnerable situations. FY21 was a year in which people of all ages struggle to maintain or improve their future outlook.
