Story Behind the Curve
In FY22, the MST-EA team consisted of a program supervisor and 2 therapists. In December of 2021, the program supervisor resigned. In January of 2022, one of the MST-EA therapists was promoted to the program supervisor position leaving the team with the remaining therapist carrying a full case load (3-4 cases) and the program supervisor carrying a case load of 2. This reduced the total number of youth/young adults served in FY22. The vacant therapist position was filled in June, 2022. After training, the new therapist will be assigned a case load gradually totaling 3-4 clients.

What Works
The MST-EA team supervisor is responsible for maintaining an active connection with all program referral sources. The supervisor communicates with referral sources often and provides MST-EA orientation sessions so that new referral source staff are fully aware of the resource. A consistent flow of referrals allows for the MST-EA supervisor to fill open slots for clients very quickly.

The First Half Fiscal Year Report (HFY1) will count all youth/young adults receiving MST EA services during the first six months of the fiscal year. The second Half Fiscal Year (HFY2) report will count only new/unduplicated youth/young adults receiving MST EA services during the second six months of the fiscal year. The Fiscal Year (FY) report will provide the total unduplicated number served for the entire fiscal year.
