What Works to Do Better (Performance)?
The "Story Behind the Curve" helps us understand the causes and forces at that work that explain the data behind Justice-Involved Communicable Disease Vaccine and Education Program.
The Justice-Involved Communicable Disease Vaccine and Education Program was started so that we could get the vaccines, such as Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B, to the high risk population that is in our jail system. This helps stop the spread of Hepatitis A and B and helps protect those who may be incarcerated for long periods of times. While this program is helpful, there are some barriers that are difficult to overcome. One of those barriers is that Graham County has a small population with a small jail, therefore having repeat offenders in the jail and not having new justice-involved persons to vaccine and/or educate.
What's Helping What We Do? These are the positive forces at work in our strategy/ program that influence how much we do or how well we do it.
-
Partnership with the Graham County Jail.
-
Support from the Jail staff to allow us to come twice a month.
-
Active participation from the justice-involved persons.
What's Hurting What We Do? These are the negative forces at work in our strategy/program that influence how much we do or how well we do it.
-
Repeat offenders in the jail who have already been vaccinated/educated.
-
Small jail population
