PHOF 1.18ii - Social Isolation: Percentage of adult carers who have as much social contact as they would like
Current Value
24.4%
Definition
Story Behind the Curve
The proportion carers who reported they had as much social contact as they would like. A higher score is better.
There is a clear link between loneliness and poor mental and physical health. A key element of the Government’s vision for social care is to tackle loneliness and social isolation, supporting people to remain connected to their communities and to develop and maintain connections to their friends and family. Only a sample of carers in each authority has been surveyed. The confidence intervals on the bar chart indicate the highest and lowest likely score for all carers known to the authority. This measure is a percentage.
