GPRA 14. For children in the 9th to 12th grades, the number and percent of parents or family members who report talking with their child about the importance of college and career.
Guidance Document Definition. This indicator is intended to measure whether parents and guardians discuss the importance of college and career with their high school children.
Our definition nearly conforms to the Guidance Document. We made one change to the stem of the question so that it reads "Within the last six months" instead of "In the first semester or term of this school year." This change was made to accomodate the timing our survey, which was implemented at the very beginning of the academic school year. The change was intended to avoid confusion for participants. Federal TA providers were in agreement with this change. Our measurement tool is a neighborhood survey. A copy is located below.
