Data Description
Life expectancy is used globally as a comprehensive measure of health, similar to self-reported health behavior. While life expectancy statewide has increased slightly over the past decade according to Healthy People 2020 data, disparities persist. The highest life expectancy in any North Carolina county is in Orange County at 81.9 years while the lowest is in Robeson County at 67.4 years, an almost fifteen year difference. There are also significant differences between genders and racial/ethnic groups.
