What is this about?
This indicator tracks the alcohol-specific hospital admission rate for under-18s per 10,000 children in Jersey. The rate covers a rolling three-year period. For example, the 2018 data point covers the years 2016-18.
Over the three-year period 2019-2021, there were 58 admissions to hospital of under 18 year olds with a primary or secondary diagnosis for an alcohol-specific condition. Only a very small percentage of under 18s had multiple alcohol-specific hospital admissions. On average, the number of female admissions was greater than the number of male admissions. Jersey's rate is considerably higher than that in England.
