What is this about?
This data is collected using the Jersey Opinions and Lifestyle Survey (JOLS) which surveys a representative sample of adults in Jersey. Its purpose is to track attendance at heritage sites, so respondents are asked how often they have attended a range of different heritage sites in the last 12 months, such as historic fortifications, heritage attractions, archaeological sites, historic places of worship (as a visitor) and the Jersey Archive.
In 2022, 82% of adults had attended one or more of the listed heritage sites in the last 12 months, representing a significant increase compared to when the question was first asked in JOLS in 2019.
