Story Behind the Curve

Forward Wayne County's goal is to be at the Indiana State average or above for Per Capita Personal Income.  As of 2018, Wayne County's Per Capita Income was 88% of the state average.  Though Wayne County has increased year over year since 2014, Wayne County still lags behind the state.

Forward Wayne County's strategy for improving the Per Capita Personal Income is to increase the percent of the population with an associate degree or higher.  Forward Wayne County established the Employability Coalition is a collaborative and collective effort to the move the dial on connecting our residents to opportunities and developing the talent we have.  This group is a mix of K-12, higher ed, and industry representatives.
