Antibody Positivity Rate (all programs)
Current Value
5.2%
Definition
Why Is This Important?
The antibody positivity (aka antibody reactive) rate measures the proportion of people tested who produce a reactive antibody test. The numerator and denominator capture anyone who has ever been exposed to HCV, including those who have cleared it on their own or through treatment. An upward trend in this curve is desirable because it lets us know how well we're doing in testing those who are highly impacted by HCV. For example, a low positivity rate might let us know we're not reaching and testing the right people, therefore we should shift our strategies, location of services, etc.
