Story Behind the Curve
This indicator reflects the number of net new jobs yearly across the State of Vermont. There was significant job losses in calendar year 2020 due to the impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. After three years of modest employment growth, 86.2% of the filled jobs that were lost during COVID-19 have been recovered. The recovery in employment has been stronger in the private sector than the public sector.
