Story Behind the Curve
This indicator reflects the number of net new jobs yearly across the State of Vermont. There was significant job losses in calendar year 2020 due to the impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. After four years of modest employment growth, 94.2% of the filled jobs that were lost during COVID-19 have been recovered. Statewide job growth in 2024 was proportionately stronger in the public sector than the private sector.
