Story Behind the Curve
This program was started in Columbus, OH in April of 2005 by Dr. David Sabgir and has now expanded throughout the world. Brunswick Wellness Coalition started this program in Brunswick County July 2019. During the pandemic you will see changes in the curve. This is due to walk with a doc going virtual. Individuals walked on their own instead of in a group from May 2020-Dec 2021. Going virtual showed more participation with participants being able to walk on their own walking schedule. The in person walk with a doc started with 37 participants and once they went virtual it increased to 316.

What Works
Walk with a Doc going virtual helped increase numbers. With more particpants more people are able to get health advice from these doctors also helping access to care for Brunswick County.
Action Plan
Brunswick Wellnes Coalition is still deciding if they want to continue Walk with a Doc. They want to make sure it is sustainable.
