Story Behind the Curve
The initial roll out of the Post Overdose Response Team/ Quick Response Team proved to be successful, espcially through the use of PEER Support Specialists. However, with COVID-19 restrictions, and high employee turnover throughout the city and county, training and continuing response activities became difficult to accomplish. With overdose deaths on the rise, the Onslow County Health Department and partners plan to aggressively begin responding to future incidents.
