CMCA is a non-profit organization that receives the majority of its funding through local, state, and federal grants.  These funds are restricted, meaning they can only be spent according to the terms outlined in the grant.  Unrestricted funds are those which the agency receives that are not pre-allocated by a funder or donor.  Diversifying these funding sources enhances CMCA's ability to provide quality services without relying on a single funding source.  CMCA has committed to creating an action plan to create a diversified funding stream.  This measure tracks the progress of that plan's development.

Diversified funding sources allow CMCA to maintain or enhance program operations if a single funding source is reduced or non-renewed and contribute to the overall fiscal health of the organization.  Additionally, funding sources that bring in unrestricted funds allow us to expand services to previously underserved populations, such as youth under age 21, or to those who do not meet qualifications for traditional resources and benefits.
