Story Behind the Curve
CMCA's data governance plan includes steps to ensure the availability of high-quality data. One of the first steps in this plan is the creation of a file audit process for each program. As each program's file audit process is developed, the compliance percentages will be presented here.
Why Is This Important?
CMCA depends on having high-quality data for planning and decision-making purposes. It is important that internal data be accurate, complete, timely, and non-duplicated. Due to funding requirements, most CMCA programs enter data into multiple data and reporting systems, which increases our need for systems and processes that can help ensure high-quality data. A regular file audit process highlights areas where additional staff training or changes in processes may be needed, as well as areas in which data entry processes are working well.
