Why Is This Important?

HCV Prevalence refers to the estimated number of active (acute or chronic) HCV infections in San Francisco. An estimate of HCV prevalence allows us to measure our progress and measure the impact of our interventions. A downward trend would indicate that we are making an impact towards reducing the number of existing HCV infections in the city. This estimate also serves as a baseline as we evaluate and measure the progress of our work going forward.
