The NC Department of Insurance presented data on the number of participating fire departments in Lincoln County for the respective year. Currently, local fire departments self-determine involvement in Smoke Alarm Saturday. The number of fire departments participating in 2020 did increase to two departments as it was still early in the COVID-19 pandemic, but went back down in 2021.
