What Works
Challenges

Local health departments are at various stages of efforts and interest in accreditation. Funding and staff time have been an ongoing challenge that our local health departments face in order to implement the best practices outlined in accreditation standards.

Corrective Action

IDOH is considering expanding the accreditation team and considering funding assistance to LHDs during the 2023 year. This will provide a projected benefit of more LHDs accredited in 2024 and 2025.
