Story Behind the Curve
In 2019 and early 2020, our Health Educator developed education for adults in government and schools, providing that course to adult leaders in our community. With the emergence of Covid-19 and changes in agencies' accessibility, the courses were placed on hold until the fall of 2022 with the exception of an online CATCH My Breath community leader training that was held virtually in December 2021. In the winter of 2022, our Health Educator was able to offer CATCH My Breath to two principals and 3 school nurses for Alexander County Schools. In Fall of 2023, our Health Educator was able to train 8 middle and high school health teachers, and one high school counselor.

Continue to have the health educator at ACHD train adult members of the community on CATCH My Breath, expanding upon school instructors educated.
