Story Behind the Curve
The new dietitian started Oct 2018 and used 2019 as a time to restablish the support group. At this point, you can see the graph and numbers increase. While we did cancel two of the groups early in 2020, we quickly converted to virtual, which allowed individuals to continue to participate.
Most of the class sizes are between 10-15 people. However, the November Diabetes Awareness Event increases our overall number, as it offered on a larger scale to both the community and to employees.

What Works
People seem to like the overall structure of the class such as: People enjoy telling each other their stories, sharing successes; Recipes/cooking demos; topics and presentations; ability to ask to ask questions in a safe environment.
May lead to increased diabetes program committment, as it is easier to get people to support group.
