Story Behind the Curve
With pre-diabetes screenings, HgbA1c, paper screeners and education are given. Participants are screened for both pre-diabetes and diabetes. Those who qualify are directed to both programs. For those who are not eligible, we provide information on the Diabetes Support Group, which anyone can attend and other programs that are available.
Our new lifestyle coach started in August 2017. During that time, recruitments increased. In addition, those who completed the program referred others.
In 2020-2021, Covid impacted the screening and recruitment efforts were limited. However, we did sustain the program by conducting drive through screenings on scheduled walk in days.
