New Mexico is the fifth-largest state in the U.S. in terms of the land area covering 121,298 square miles with 17.3 persons per square mile, making it the seventh sparsest state, which contributes to the challenge of providing transportation.

2021 data on unduplicated consumers was very low because of the pandemic and network capacity due to providers having workforce shortages. 

Currently there is a limited number of transportation providers, limited hours of operation. There is a huge need for transportation providers that can offer service beyond the time frame between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.
