Story Behind the Curve
Overall—Averaging the percent of students that require substantial instructional support across the six domains, in 2020-2021, 12.9% of students, on average, require such support. This is substantially lower than prior years. It is unclear why the percentage would drop so precipitously, except that the COVID environment may have led to uneven implementation of the KEI, and/or teachers being more lenient with their assessment based upon the stress of COVID environmental factors. The percentages increased in each domain for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 school years.
