Story Behind the Curve
In January of 2024, SisterWeb began to lean more on external partners, which is why the number of Professional Core Competency Trainings reduced significantly after these months. Beginning in the new fiscal year (July 2024) SisterWeb Leadership wanted to go back and re-train all staff in key project management tools through The Management Center. This is part of a year long process to "rehabilitate the sacred vibration" of the organization and make sure staff are in alignment with goals and work methods.
Partners
SisterWeb partnered with the EMBRACE Black Prenatal Care team at UCSF, the Mid-Coastal California Perinatal Outreach Program, and other conferences like the Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs (AMCHP).
What Works
Using well respected curriculum like the tools presented by The Management Center can remove the burden from Community Rooted Organizations needing to reinvent the wheel on job skill training for staff.
Strategy
SistWeb has prioritized this aspect of staff cohesion by creating a line item in the budget which supports both external and internal trainings for staff.
