Employee resilience refers to an individual's ability to bounce back from adversity, cope with stress, and adapt positively to challenging situations.

Employee resilience scores by resilience category is based on combined 'relative strengths' rating in the Guarding Minds at Work survey. 

The Guarding Minds at Work annual survey statements directly touch upon aspects of individual well-being, coping mechanisms, and personal resilience in the face of workplace challenges. These statements include:

  • I feel burned out in my job.
  • My home life suffers because of my work.
  • I feel supported at work when I am dealing with personal issues.
  • My employer encourages me to take my entitled breaks.
  • I am able to reasonably balance the demands of work and personal life.
  • My employer promotes work-life balance.
  • I can talk to my supervisor when I am having trouble maintaining work-life balance.
  • My supervisor supports me to do my job successfully.
  • I am willing to give extra effort at work if needed.
  • I feel I am part of a community at work.
  • My supervisor supports my personal growth.
  • I have the opportunity to take on new challenges.

Story Behind the Curve

Survey results are shared annually in May. Our current score is representative of our 2023 survey results, and serves as our baseline data. We are actively addressing proactive initiatives with the aim of enhancing our score for the 2024 results.
