Cooking Matters is a new program led by the health education staff. There is interest in nutrition education as expressed in the community health assessment. Currently, the program has been successful at the Sanford senior center, the Enrichment Center. More outreach is being done to promote the program and build community relationships around Lee County.

Participants enjoyed the different type of information presented - classroom engagement, discussions about food options pros and cons (fresh, frozen, canned), tyring foods for the first time (kiwi fruit, carrot juice, etc.), thinking about new ideas in general in regards to food, etc.
