Story Behind the Curve
With the population as a whole rising in Lee County, as is the population of people who are experiencing homelessness. The cause of each individuals situation is as unique as the person themselves. In a broad sense, those experiencing homelessness are generally also experiencing the following: unemployment or stagnant wages, lack of affordable housing/healthcare/mental health care, poverty, racial inequity, family conflict, and systematic failures.
