Story Behind the Curve
RHA distibutes free Medication LockBoxes to several county departments including the Health Department in order to reduce the number of accidental drug overdoses in the county. This program began in 2021, and continues into 2023. The growth in the program can be attributed to continuous education on LockBoxes and distribution of them at community events; In 2023 ACHD gave out 31, while RHA distributed a total of 154.

What Works
Bringing LockBoxes to community events instead of educational and awareness content only improves the total number distributed as the population has direct and immediate access to the materials.
Action Plan
Continue to distribute LockBoxes at community events while still making sign-outs for boxes available at the Health Department.
