Measure Definition
This measure shows the number of tort (personal injury) cases opened by the Medicaid Recovery program during the state fiscal year.
During SFY 2023, ORS modified internal processes so that referrals for non-Medicaid eligible individuals did not result in opening and immediately closing an ORS case for audit purposes. This should result in a decrease in the number of new cases opened going forward, and more accurately reflect the number of tort cases that will be worked by this program.
