Description: Variable trend. The incarceration rate in Arkansas increased from 497 per 100,000 population in 2012 to 602 per 100,000 population in 2017, before dropping to 534 per 100,000 in 2020.  In 2021, the rate of incarceration in Arkansas had increased to 562 per 100,000 population.
