Data Description and Source

Description: Mostly positive trend.  The overall stroke mortality rate in Arkansas generally decreased between 2012 and 2019, from 49.1 per 100,000 population to 40.7 per 100,000 population, before increasing in 2021 to 49.9.

Stroke mortality rates have decreased for all population groups except non-Hispanic Black male. Both non-Hispanic Black males and Black females have higher mortality rates from stroke compared to non-Hispanic White males and White females. Rates for non-Hispanic White males and females are similar over the last decade.
