The Guarding Minds @ Work Survey measures psychological health and safety through an employee's perception of their organization. Data is reported by Department of Health and Human Services annually.
Results for this measure are updated reported annually, upon release of the Guardian Minds @ Work Survey results from DHHS.
Story Behind the Curve
Over the past year, JJYS has experienced extreme staffing shortages and turnover in many facilities. The impact of these staffing challenges can be felt throughout the agency. From an operational standpoint, the agency has had to mandate extra shifts and coverage in facilities and there are times when staff are unable to take leave. These staffing challenges can also be exacerbated by the complexity of youth currently under the care of the agency.
While the Division has taken steps to increase staff voice, improve recruitment efforts, and leverage all agency resources to support the mission of JJYS, it is also understood that the physical and mental strain on staff has increased. JJYS's target for this measure is to decrease JJYS staff feelings of burnout by 10% over 5 years.
