UPDATE: On January 24th, 2024, Ohio legislature voted to support a new law, which removes "home rule" initiatives to control tobacco and nicotine products that cities, such as Springfield, have put in place with support from local legislatures, health departments, and residents. In light of this new law, it is expected that operations will cease at local agenies that issue Tobacco Retail Licenses (TRL) and conduct compliance checks as of April 23rd, 2024. This CHIP activity will no longer be monitored, as TRL operations have been eliminated.
