Story Behind the Curve
In 2023, with Opioid Settlement funding we trained 8 new individuals as peer support specialists, bringing the total number of Johnston County Peer Support Specialists to 44.
In January 2024, according to the NC Certified Peer Support Specialist Program website, Johnston County has 52 Certified Peer Support Specialists. We hope to train 8-10 additional Peer Support Specialists in Johnston County in 2024, which would bring the total to 62.
