Measure Definition
This measure represents the percent of Juvenile Justice and Youth Services (JJYS) employees who feel like their input is valued, for specified State Fiscal Year Quarters. Responses are voluntary and collected by the Division of Human Resource Management's Organizational Health Index (OHI).
Results for this measure are updated quarterly, within 45 days after the end of each quarter.
Story Behind the Curve
JJYS believes that a key aspect of psychological safety is staff voice. Over the past year, JJYS has also experienced extreme staffing shortages and the strain and impact on staff is acknowledged. While the agency cannot control how a staff always feels, they can control the efforts undertaken to seek input and provide forums for listening and learning.
JJYS attempts to provide this employee input through monthly all hands call, a statewide staff council, weekly messages from the director, and regular visits to facilities to meet with staff. JJYS's target for this measure is to have a 5% increase, over 5 years, in JJYS employee responses suggesting they feel their input is valued.
